This page is about sharing the love we have in our hobby. It’s about sharing the beauty of our tanks, the beauty of the animals we keep and the beauty of nature. If you wish to contact me, please send your inquiry to info at this domain dot nl. No spam, no selling, no bullshit. Just hobbyists sharing their love for the hobby.

Who am I?

I’m a hobbyist, just like you. I’ve been keeping frogs for 8 years in the past. My first few frogs were Epidobates Tricolor, quickly after that I moved on to Tinctorius variaties (had over 12 kinds), bred a ton of pumilio and had dozens and dozens of Terribilis. At the height of my hobby I had 40 tanks, hundreds of frogs and the hobby was slowly more and more like a part time job.

Till around 2010 when a power outage hit my frog room and I lost all my frogs. I was devastated and decided to quit the hobby. I moved on and became a beekeeper years later, see my website: imkerijsoest.nl. But during Corona period I started with a few shrimps in the aquariums I still had for my tadpoles, since then I have been buying fish like guppies and Psuedomogil, Geosesarma species and since 2023 back to frogs.

I don’t want to be the only one sharing my tanks and animals. I want to see yours too! So if you want to share your tanks, your animals, your hobby, please contact me at info at this domain dot nl. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Some requirements, im going to spend some time setting up your gallery. My personal aim is to have a high quality website, I want to keep the quality of the galleries high. So:

  • You need to be a hobbyist, not a shop or a breeder. I want to see your tanks, not your stock. If you have a shop or a breeding facility, you can contact me for advertising options or a sponsored gallery.
  • You need to be able to write a little bit about your tanks, your animals, your hobby. I want to know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it and how you’re doing it.
  • The pictures need to be yours. I don’t want to see pictures from other websites, I want to see your pictures. You need to be the owner of the pictures. And you share the permission to use the pictures on this website, afterwards you can still use them on your own website or social media. But we get full permission to use them on this website. You should be ok with others being able to download the pictures from this website. You are free to add a trademark or watermark to the pictures. These need to be small and in the corner of the picture.
  • The pictures need to be of good quality. I don’t want to see blurry pictures, I want to see the beauty of your tanks and animals.
  • Pictures need to be high quality resolution.
  • The goal of this website is to share Vivariums / Paludariums that mimic nature or scape in a way that it is truely a sight to behold. A spongepop squarepants castle with plastic plants are not what we are looking for.
  • The enclosure needs to be healthy for the animals living in it.

What is this counter on the bottom of the page?

The counter at the bottom of the page is a simple counter to see how many people have visited this website. What it does? It creates a link, and each time this link gets called it adds a plus one.

It’s a simple, no tracking, no cookies, no bullshit counter.

I strongly believe everyone on internet should not be tracked, I don’t want to know who you are, I don’t want to know where you’re from, I don’t want to know what you’re doing. I just want to share my hobby with you. The only information I gather from this is: How many people have visited this website and each page, unfortunately the website gets indexed by bots.. But it gives me an idea if this is a waste of money, or if people are happy. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. And thats how it should be.

Future plans?

At the moment I have a few plans. I would love to get more community interaction, this means:

  • Members forward their own galleries, I’ll create a page for them and they get their own gallery.
  • If this get active a quarterly vote for the best gallery. (Lets say when we get 100 views per month, we’ll start this)
  • When this website gets more views we ask members to write articles, either about trips, discoveries they made or lessons learned. (When we get 1000 views per month, we’ll start this).
  • Podcast or Newsletter. (When we get 5000 views per month, we’ll start this).
